Absolute Pets is looking for a Retail Trainer to join the HR Team who's primary focus will be on developing, implementing and providing trainings to the Absolute Pets retail teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging training programmes:
    • Design and implement training modules on products, policies, and customer service procedures.
  • Ensure optimal functionality of Articulate and Training Academy
  • Ensure all training material is up to date and relevant on the Training Academy
  • Create and maintain the training calendar for the year.
  • Coordinate the training materiel required with the relevant suppliers.
  • Mark and provide feedback on the assessments and essays.
  • Conduct in person orientation and general trainings throughout the year.
    • Arrange the venue and food logistics.
  • Coordinate with operational teams around staff logistics.
  • Track training spend per training.
  • Conduct store visits to observe employees on the sales floor and offer constructive feedback to improve their performance in line with Absolute Pets standards.
  • Oversee Market Days
    • Arrange the venue logistics.
  • Communicate with suppliers.
  • Oversee the Market Day Budget
  • Coordinate with operational teams around staff logistics
  • Ensure the smooth running of events on the day
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
    • Develop and utilize assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programmes
  • Collect feedback from employees, managers and customers to identify areas for improvement
  • Continuously update and adapt training materials based on changing needs and feedback
  • Assist with SETA submission by ensuring all training administration is up to date.
  • Assist with any other ad hoc projects within the HR team.


Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Exposure to training role is advantageous
  • Strong ability to develop, deliver and evaluate effective training programmes
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for Pet Care and Retail
  • Creative flair
  • Will need to be able to travel locally throughout the month.
